In the Wild with Greg Wagner

WAGNER FAMILY VACATION PICS – PART 1 by Greg Wagner

Just got back into Omaha and thought I would share some quick pics of the Wagner Family’s fun-filled northeastern Nebraska outdoor vacation. Can’t beat a good old-fashioned Nebraska vacation, especially to Antelope County!

The clear, spring-fed waters of the East Branch of the Verdigre Creek.

You know what was so great about it? Tremendous natural resources, wonderful people and fantastic friends, didn’t cost us much, what money we did spend went into the local economies (food, gas, bait, tackle, etc.) and the best thing – no iPhones, cell phones, laptop computers, hand-held video games, TV, radio, etc. We actually had good weather, all got along famously, did a variety of different outdoor activities and laughed an awful  lot!

Swimming in a spring-fed pond wearing our life jackets for safety.

Hunting a private stretch of the Verdigre Creek for arrowheads, flints, unique rocks and fossils is one of our favorite things to do.

A Native American flint we found in the creek.

Roasting marshmallows over a campfire to make s'mores is a Wagner family tradition.

Fishing is always a "huge" part of any Wagner family outdoor vacation. More pics on fishing and other aspects of the vacation in the coming days! Stay tuned!

See you out there, or at least back at the office catching up a bit, ha! Stop and say “hey” if you’re in my neck of the woods. I’ll always be there to help you plan your Nebraska outdoor family vacation!
