The pristine, rolling northern Nebraska sandhills are the setting of the Arthur Bowring Ranch State Historical Park’s Sod House Sunday.   

This popular, annual event is scheduled for this Sunday, June 27th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (MDT). Many activities include: (all times listed below are Mountain Daylight Time) *Visitor Center opening at 8 a.m. *Church service starting at 11 a.m. *Chuck Wagon lunch – serving at 11 a.m.

*Entries for Team Penning accepted from 8 a.m. – 12 noon. *Entertainment starting up at 1 p.m and continuing throughout the afternoon. *Team Penning beginning at 1:30 p.m.

*Children’s games/activities beginning at 1 p.m. *Bowring Ranch Home Museum and Sod House opening at 1 p.m. *Bowring History and Ranching lifestyle movie and displays ongoing in the Visitor Center. 


A Park Entry Permit is required for the Bowring Ranch located just northeast of Merriman, NE. For more information about Sod House Sunday, contact:
