In the Wild with Greg Wagner

UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNTS OF WATER IN THE WEST! by Greg Wagner

THIS FROM SCOTT EVELAND OF THE NEBRASKA GAME AND PARKS COMMISSION’S BOATING SECTION BASED AT LAKE MCCONAUGHY,

as posted on the Nebraska Fish and Game Association’s Forum online, at: www.nefga.org @ 9:30 a.m. CDT, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Thanks a bunch Scott for the Lake McConaughy info and photos!

The water coming down the North Platte (NP) River continues to amaze us around here!

Nearly 5,000 cubic feet per second (cfs)!

The Wyoming  (WY) reservoir system is nearly full:

There is 19,000 cfs at the top, a lot of snowmelt to come, and nowhere to put it!

Wow, who would have thought we’d be in this predicament after the drought we just went through!

I still don’t know if Lake McConaughy (Big Mac) will get “full” but it came up just under two feet the last week alone, so I don’t know what to expect anymore…

The downside is that people along the NP River system are going to be dealing with some flooding/seepage for quite some time.

See you out there, watching Big Mac fill!
