With the unofficial kick off summer beckoning (Memorial Day Weekend), I’d just wanted to pass along a quick reminder to you to not overlook the many camping gems that are just off the beaten path here in Nebraska. If you’re willing to rough it a bit more with primitive facilities and perhaps drive a little further, these smaller state recreation areas offer huge dividends to the camper: scenery, solitude and some super fishing. Take a look at one of my favorites. This is 153-acre, scenic Long Pine Creek State Recreation Area in Brown County, NE with its pristine trout stream.
