In the Wild with Greg Wagner

LOOKING FOR A GOOD, QUIET PLACE TO FISH? by Greg Wagner

Are you looking for a good, quiet place to wet a line in Nebraska that may not have many other anglers around? Thought so. Then, I want you to look into the ‘Open Waters’  portion of the walk-in Open Fields and Waters program coordinated by us at Game and Parks.

From an overall perspective, here’s what’s available in it:

LAKE/POND ACRES:  371.46 (in 35 lakes/ponds)

RIVERS/STREAMS:  27.8 miles (A river mile may include both sides of the river or stream)

Click this link for further details and an atlas of the Open Waters areas: http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/hunting/programs/crp/atlas.asp

Jeff Kurrus of NEBRASKAland Magazine shows off a nice largemouth bass he caught in one of the Open Waters program ponds.

Jeff participates in this popular Game and Parks blog: http://afieldandafloat.wordpress.com/

See you out there casting a lure for one of those big ol’ bass like Jeff Kurrus landed in an Open Waters program pond! WHOOOOOAAAA, I THINK I’VE HOOKED ONE!!!
